Meet the Advisors: Sylvie Perrin

Paris, France, Wednesday 17 February 2026

Sylvie Perrin is an international business lawyer and energy transition specialist based in Paris. Over the course of her career, Sylvie has advised on renewable energy, infrastructure, and innovative financing structures across Europe.

As a partner at De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés and founder of La Plateforme Verte, she brings deep expertise in regulatory frameworks, commercial structuring, and strategic development within the energy sector.

In this first interview of our Meet the Advisors-series, Sylvie shares her perspective on how the energy landscape has evolved and why Decade Energy’s model is particularly relevant today.

Q: You have seen countless energy projects go live over the years. How has the landscape evolved during this time? How has it enabled a business model like ours?

When I reflect on the past decade, the transformation is remarkable. Renewable energy generation has progressively matured, particularly in France, and flexibility has become a structural priority for the power system. Storage is no longer perceived as a niche technology but instead increasingly viewed as core infrastructure.

In parallel, regulatory frameworks, market mechanisms, and grid requirements have evolved to support more dynamic and decentralized models. These shifts have taken time, but they have created the conditions needed for innovative storage solutions to scale.

What makes Decade Energy’s model possible today is the convergence of technological maturity, clear economic signals, and genuine system-level needs. Batteries can now deliver value both to industrial and logistics clients and to the broader grid. That dual value proposition is fundamental and it simply was not achievable at scale years ago.

"Renewable energy generation has progressively matured, particularly in France, and flexibility has become a structural priority for the power system."
Q: Based on your experience, what makes Decade Energy unique in how we approach project development and structuring?

From my perspective, what differentiates Decade Energy is its market approach.

Rather than concentrating on a limited number of large, standardized projects, Decade Energy develops smaller-scale assets within a diversified portfolio. This creates resilience across clients, revenue streams, and market exposure. In a sector that continues to evolve quickly, diversification is a real strategic advantage.

I also consider the “BESS as a Service” model a key differentiator. Decade Energy offers clients a flexible solution that aligns with their operational needs while preserving their balance sheets and reducing complexity. This service-oriented structure makes storage accessible without imposing unnecessary financial or operational burdens.

By combining modular development with dynamic structuring, Decade Energy creates value simultaneously for end users and for the power system. That alignment is essential for long-term sustainability.

"Storage is no longer perceived as a niche technology but instead increasingly viewed as core infrastructure… What makes Decade Energy’s model possible today is the convergence of technological maturity, clear economic signals, and genuine system-level needs."

What I find most rewarding is supporting a company from the earliest spark of an entrepreneurial idea through to structured projects and a sustainable business model. At this stage, advisory work goes far beyond transactions. It involves shaping strategy, reflecting on long-term value creation, and selecting the right financial partners.

There is also a strong human dimension. Working alongside a young, motivated, and determined team – and sharing in the satisfaction of winning new contracts – brings real energy to the journey!

I am genuinely happy to bring my experience and expertise to Decade Energy at such a pivotal moment in its development. The energy transition requires innovation, discipline, and conviction, all of which Decade Energy embodies.
