Decade Energy is accelerating its expansion into Germany, with a team now established on the ground and a growing pipeline of battery energy storage projects progressing across the country.
The move follows Decade Energy’s €22 million financing announced in April, which was raised to scale deployment in France, expand the company’s power infrastructure offering and enter new European markets. Due to its rapidly changing energy system and increasing deployment of electric trucks, Germany was identified at the time as one of Decade Energy’s priority markets for international expansion.
That expansion comes as grid constraints are becoming an increasingly European challenge. The International Energy Agency (IEA) identifies grid capacity as a critical bottleneck for connecting new electricity generation, storage, and demand, while highlighting battery energy storage as one of the most versatile technologies available to provide short-term flexibility, manage congestion and support the integration of growing electricity demand with renewable generation.
For Decade Energy, this reinforces a core belief behind its European expansion: flexible power infrastructure will be increasingly important not only in France, but across Europe as transport, logistics, and other sectors electrify.

As part of its expansion, Decade Energy has already screened more than 200 sites across Germany to assess their battery energy storage potential. The company is also working with leading logistics and real estate groups to identify and advance projects where flexible power infrastructure can support site owners, tenants and carriers as transport electrification scales.
