Decade Energy today announced the appointment of Kristofer Fröjd as Senior Advisor, starting on February 1, 2026. The appointment strengthens the company’s ability to scale fleet electrification while supporting a more resilient and flexible electricity grid across the Nordics and Europe.
Kristofer brings more than 20 years of experience across energy, utilities, and transport electrification. He joins Decade Energy after nearly a decade at Ellevio, one of Sweden’s largest distribution system operators (DSOs), where he held senior leadership roles spanning strategy, business development, partnerships, and digital innovation.
Decade Energy develops energy storage, charging, and software solutions that secure power for electric fleets at the lowest possible cost. As electrification accelerates across the Nordics and Europe, access to grid capacity – not vehicles – has emerged as the primary bottleneck for transport decarbonisation.
– Kristofer Fröjd, Senior Advisor at Decade Energy
Decade Energy’s insight is shaped by its origins as a pioneer of electric trucks, with its founding team coming from Volta Trucks: power, not hardware, is the limiting factor. The company secures long-term power capacity at fleet and depot sites and optimizes how electricity is used through integrated batteries, charging infrastructure, and energy management software.
This approach is grounded in execution. To date, Decade Energy has:
Beyond enabling fleets, Decade Energy’s’s solutions directly support electricity system resilience. By deploying storage, managing demand, and enabling flexibility at depot sites, Decade Energy helps reduce peak loads, defer costly grid reinforcements, and improve overall system stability.
– Carl-Magnus Norden, Chairman and Co-Founder at Decade Energy
Kristofer’s role will focus on strategy, partnerships, and international expansion, with a particular emphasis on supporting DSOs. Many of which are navigating the transition from historically state-owned structures to more flexible, innovation-driven operating models.
Kristofer will begin his role as Senior Advisor on 1 February 2026.
