Decade Energy Signs Five Leases with Siteboost to Develop Battery Energy Storage Systems Across France

Paris, France, Thursday 11 September 2025

Summary

  • Five projects totaling 20 MW will deliver new battery storage capacity across France.
  • The portfolio enhances grid flexibility, local resilience, and supports EU decarbonization goals.
  • Siteboost specializes in repurposing unused real estate, helping landowners generate income while enabling renewable energy and storage projects.

Decade Energy, a leading developer of battery energy storage systems (BESS), today announced the signing of five new leases to deploy storage projects across France. The agreements were made possible through a strategic partnership with Siteboost, a specialist in unlocking the value of unoccupied real estate for renewable energy solutions.

Spread across five sites in France, these projects, ranging from 2 MW to 5 MW, represent a total of 20 MW of new storage capacity for the national grid. They will support the integration of renewable energy, strengthen grid stability, and enhance energy resilience in the regions concerned.

Once operational, these systems will provide greater flexibility to the French electricity grid. Beyond national benefits, this portfolio illustrates how coordinated storage development directly contributes to Europe’s decarbonization goals. The European Union has set ambitious targets for storage deployment, recognizing that battery systems are essential to renewable integration, security of supply, and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

"Energy storage is the missing link in Europe’s renewable energy transition. By adding 20 MW of capacity through these projects with SiteBoost, we are making tangible progress toward decarbonization goals and reinforcing France’s leadership in clean energy innovation."

– Aymeric Leenhardt, VP Business Development at Decade Energy

Siteboost played a key role in enabling these agreements.

"We are proud to partner with Decade Energy on these first five projects. Our mission is to help landowners maximize the potential of their real estate while contributing to the energy transition. Battery storage is a key piece of that puzzle, and Decade Energy brings the expertise and vision to make it a reality."

– Sylvian Mazzolini and Elodie Teixeira, Siteboost

The five new projects are part of Decade Energy’s broader French pipeline, with additional sites under negotiation. Together, Decade Energy and Siteboost are paving the way for more innovative collaborations that bring flexible, sustainable energy solutions to communities across France.
