At Decade Energy we’re building the infrastructure to support the next era of mobility and energy.
As Senior Project Manager, Tanguy Le Pommelec plays a key role in that mission: overseeing the rollout of our infrastructure in France, from product architecture and site design to full-scale deployment.
He ensures each project is technically sound and operationally feasible, working with a wide range of stakeholders, from tenants and grid operators to firefighters and local administrations, to bring complex electrification projects to life.
Tanguy’s career has always revolved around transport and energy. Before joining Decade Energy, he spent three years at Allego, where he led the delivery of over 35 EV charging stations for Carrefour hypermarkets in just 18 months. Later, as an Energy Specialist, he managed energy supply and tax optimization systems in France, gaining a deep understanding of how to keep costs efficient while scaling infrastructure.
One milestone he’s particularly proud of: being part of the team that built France’s first Allego truck charging station. “All the topics were new, the challenges were huge, and there was a real sense of innovation. I’m glad I was part of it.”
These experiences give him a unique dual perspective: the technical and logistical know-how of deploying infrastructure at scale, combined with the financial expertise to make projects viable long-term.
For Tanguy, joining Decade Energy was about being at the forefront of a transformation he cares deeply about. “I’m really into transport, and being part of the electrification of this industry is something deeply motivating,” he explains.
He’s especially excited about the potential of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology for trucks, which he believes could be a gamechanger for both operators and the energy system at large.
Electrification isn’t simple, it requires new ways of thinking and a clear demonstration of benefits. But Tanguy sees Decade Energy’s role as critical: “We’re facilitators. We make the transition manageable, even for players who might not see the benefits immediately.”
With an engineering background and a drive for optimization, Tanguy thrives on solving complex problems. He’s motivated by efficiency and impact, knowing that while trucks account for just 2% of vehicles, they represent nearly 30% of transport emissions. Tackling this imbalance, he says, is one of the clearest ways to make a meaningful change.
On the team, colleagues describe him as sharp and solution-oriented, someone who approaches challenges with both intelligence and practicality.
Outside of work, Tanguy’s passion for mobility takes a more personal form. He once built his own bicycle from scratch, welding steel tubes into a custom frame, and has since taken it on bike trips across the countryside.
When he’s not working on infrastructure or personal projects, you’ll likely find him cycling or camping, enjoying the outdoors with the same energy he brings to electrifying Europe’s transport sector.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more about the people behind Decade Energy, on what they’ve done before, what brought them here and on their motivations and learnings so far.
Curious to connect, collaborate, or work with us? We’d love to hear from you.
