Decade Energy Partners with AXPO Group to Enable Spot Market Access for Heavy-Duty EV Charging

Paris, France, Tuesday 24 February 2026

As part of our ongoing deployment at the Renault Trucks Grand Paris site in Gennevilliers, Decade Energy has signed AXPO Group as the aggregator for the project’s energy infrastructure.

At Gennevilliers, we are deploying next-generation EV charging infrastructure combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS), purpose-built for electric heavy-duty trucks. AXPO will serve as our energy market partner for this installation, enabling direct participation in the spot electricity market.

Through this partnership, Decade Energy gains access to real-time electricity pricing rather than fixed tariffs, a critical lever for optimizing charging costs at scale.

AXPO is one of Europe’s leading energy companies and a major player in power trading and market access services. With extensive expertise in energy markets and flexibility optimization, AXPO enables infrastructure operators to actively manage electricity price exposure and unlock market value from flexible assets such as battery storage.

Energy as a Strategic Lever

For electric truck fleets, electricity is no longer a passive operating expense. It has become a core driver of profitability. As a result, energy price volatility represents a direct risk to competitiveness.

By combining:

  • Battery energy storage
  • High-power charging infrastructure
  • Direct spot market access

Decade Energy can actively manage when electricity is purchased, stored, and delivered to vehicles. This integrated approach reduces charging costs while enhancing operational flexibility.

Building the Next Model for Freight Electrification

Electrifying heavy-duty transport requires more than installing chargers. It requires intelligent energy systems that integrate infrastructure with market dynamics.

At Renault Trucks Grand Paris site in Gennevilliers, the combination of BESS and real-time market participation enables:

  • Cost-optimized charging for fleet operators
  • Greater resilience against energy price volatility
  • Improved alignment with grid conditions

This partnership with AXPO Group marks an important step in building energy-native charging infrastructure. Designed not only to power electric trucks, but to do so competitively and sustainably. As freight transportation electrifies, mastering energy markets will be as important as deploying vehicles. Gennevilliers is part of that shift.
